Zum 01.09.2027 wird eine Persönlichkeit gesucht, die dieses Fach in Forschung und Lehre vertritt. Die Professur ist angesiedelt in der Abtei-lung für Neuere deutsche Literatur des Instituts für Germanistische und Allgemeine Literaturwissenschaft.
Im Zentrum ihrer Lehr- und Forschungstätigkeit steht das literarische Schaffen deutschsprachiger Juden vom 18. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegen-wart. Neben einem durch einschlägige Publikationen ausgewiesenen Schwerpunkt in der deutschsprachig-jüdischen Literatur- und Kulturge-schichte wird die Befähigung zur Lehre und Forschung im Fachgebiet Neuere deutsche Literatur vorausgesetzt. Das Profil des Instituts ist ge-kennzeichnet durch die gemeinsame Ausrichtung auf die deutschspra-chige Literatur in ihren europäischen, (inter-)medialen, praxeologischen und wissensgeschichtlichen Kontexten. Die künftige Stelleninhaberin bzw. der künftige Stelleninhaber soll zu diesem Profil eine europäische Perspektive beitragen. Diese Perspektive kann entweder in einem Fokus auf Mehrsprachigkeit bestehen oder in einer komparatistischen Ausrich-tung oder in einer besonderen Berücksichtigung interkultureller Aspekte, etwa im Kontext der Exilliteratur. Erwünscht ist mindestens ein weiterer Forschungsschwerpunkt aus den Profilbereichen des Instituts. Zu den Aufgaben der Professur in der Lehre gehört die Beteiligung an sämtlichen vom Institut (mit-)getragenen Studiengängen (Bachelor Lehramt Deutsch; Master of Education Deutsch; Bachelor Philosophie, Literatur- und
Sprachwissenschaft; Master Germanistische und Allgemeine Literaturwis-senschaft) einschließlich der Einführungsmodule in der Neueren deut-schen Literatur und der Betreuung von Abschlussarbeiten.
Voraussetzungen sind ein abgeschlossenes Universitätsstudium, Promo-tion und zusätzliche wissenschaftliche Leistungen, die durch eine Habili-tation, im Rahmen einer Juniorprofessur, einer wissenschaftlichen Tätig-keit an einer Hochschule, Forschungseinrichtung, in Wirtschaft, Verwal-tung oder einem anderen gesellschaftlichen Bereich erbracht wurden. Des Weiteren werden didaktische Fähigkeiten erwartet. Den Bewer-bungsunterlagen sollen Belege über Lehrerfolge beigefügt werden.
Erwartet werden die Bereitschaft zur interdisziplinären Kooperation im Rahmen der Philosophischen Fakultät, die Beteiligung an der akademi-schen Selbstverwaltung, sichtbare Publikationen sowie die Bereitschaft zur Einwerbung von Drittmitteln. Die Bewerbung sollte Angaben über ein-geworbene Drittmittel bzw. über die Beteiligung an Drittmittelanträgen enthalten.

We are inviting applications for the position of full professor in the area of European Jewish literary and cultural history, to be filled by September 1, 2027. The professorship is situated within the Department of Modern German Literature at the Institute of German and General Literary Stud-ies. The primary focus of teaching and research activities will be on the literary production of German-speaking Jews from the 18th century to the present day. The position requires an expertise in German-language Jewish literary and cultural history, documented through relevant publica-tions, and the ability to teach and conduct research in modern German literature. The profile of the Institute is characterized by a common focus on German-language literature in its European, (inter-)medial, praxeologi-cal and knowledge-historical contexts. The future post holder should contribute a European perspective to this profile, which may consist of a focus on multilingualism, a comparative orientation or a special consider-ation of intercultural aspects, for example in the context of exile literature. At least one further research focus from the Institute's profile areas is de-sirable. The teaching duties of the professorship include participation in all degree programs (Bachelor Teacher Training in German; Master of Ed-ucation in German; Bachelor Philosophy, Literature and Linguistics; Mas-ter German and General Literature) supported by the Institute, including the introductory modules in Modern German Literature and the supervi-sion of theses.
The requirements include a doctoral degree and additional research ex-perience, such as a habilitation (post-doctoral lecturing qualification) or equivalent achievements gained as a university researcher or professor or in a research position outside academia. Teaching ability and dedication are essential and the application should include proof of this. Fluent Ger-man is not required to start the position but the successful candidate will be expected to hold classes in German within the first 5 years.
A willingness to engage in interdisciplinary cooperation within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, participation in academic self-administration, visi-ble publications and a willingness to acquire third-party funding are ex-pected. The application should include information on third-party funding obtained or participation in third-party funding applications.
