CfA RAR Fellowship 2027: The Relationship between Antisemitism and Racism
The Research Network on Antisemitism in the 21st Century (FonA21), based at the Center for Research on Antisemitism at Technische Universität Berlin, and the Knowledge Network on Racism Research (WinRa), based at the German Centre for Integration and Migration Research (DeZIM), are pleased to announce the second call for applications for the RAR Fellowship.
News vom 24.09.2026
The fellowship is open to postdoctoral researchers from relevant academic disciplines whose work focuses specifically on the relationship between antisemitism and racism. It aims to foster in-depth scholarly engagement with the intersections and differences between these phenomena, as well as with the challenges shared by both fields of research and practice.
The RAR Fellowship is a joint initiative of FonA21 and WinRa and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR). FonA21 and WinRa are the coordinating projects of the BMFTR’s parallel funding programmes for research on antisemitism and racism, each of which supports several research projects. The fellowship is designed to encourage research that addresses questions across both fields and to make this work accessible to a wider academic audience. As a RAR Fellow, you will be involved in the activities of both networks and will have access to their respective academic infrastructures. Fellows are particularly encouraged to engage directly with researchers and projects funded under the two BMFTR programmes.
The fellowship is awarded for a period of three months during the summer semester. Where possible, the research stay should take place during the teaching period between April and July. Fellows will receive €3,000 per month. Travel expenses to and from Berlin will be reimbursed up to a maximum of €750. A small additional travel budget is available for visits to funded research projects within Germany.
The fellowship is administered by FonA21 through Technische Universität Berlin, which serves as the host institution. Fellows are responsible for obtaining any necessary visas and international health insurance in good time before the start of their stay.
